I was on a business trip to Sarawak in October and have found many good food over there during this trip. We have had good dinner in one of the seafood restaurant there and visited many kek lapis Sarawak (Sarawak Layer Cake) stores during this trip.
Me holdings a "Mee Siput" (coiled noodles) dried under the sun. Many noodles manufacturers produce noodles in their own backyard and dried under the sun at roadside.

Try the sugar cane drink with lemon. It was famous over here. The fried oyster was never the same style with those from Penang but it was delicious as well.

Sarawak's favourite noodles.

Taking "Belacan bee hoon" (rice noodles with belacan). I have never tried noodles like this in my life. It's has got very strong "belacan" taste.

Hilton Sarawak, a nice hotel to stay in.

We went to visit the village famous of cake lapis Sarawak. It was full of kek lapis stores. This village was just across the river from Hilton hotel.

Unlike those kek lapis from Bandung Indonesia, Sarawak's layer cake is famous due to its colorful and creative design.
Layer cake "imprint" with "SELAMAT DATANG" (Welcome) note. The shop has created it to display their skillfullness in designing the cake.

It only cost us 50cent RM to take a boat across the river. It was busylifestyle, modern buildings and skyscraper on one side while tranquil atmosphere and laid back villages along the other side of the river. This was how special Sarawak was!
Welcome to SARAWAK, welcome to Malaysia! :)
